I’m Mike.
My background is in coaching — working with people to develop, improve, and move forward.
That’s taken different forms over the years.
From coaching athletes to improve speed and performance…
to working in personal development and business, helping people gain clarity and direction.
At the core of it, the work has always been the same:
Understanding people.
How they think.
What holds them back.
And what helps them move forward.
A Different Direction
Over time, I realised something.
Most people don’t need more information.
They need space.
Space to step back.
Space to think clearly.
Space to reconnect with themselves without pressure or noise.
There was a point where things didn’t feel right.
Life felt busy, noisy, and out of balance.
Spending time outdoors — in the woods, away from everything — started to change that.
Not quickly. Not dramatically.
But consistently.
It gave me clarity.
It slowed things down.
And it brought things back into perspective.
Walk, Talk, Brew
Walk, Talk, Brew came from that experience.
It’s not about teaching bushcraft in the traditional sense.
It’s about creating an environment where people can:
step away from the pace of everyday life
spend time outdoors in a simple, natural way
think more clearly
feel more present
reconnect with what matters
There’s no pressure to talk.
No expectation to perform.
Nothing you need to prove.
Just time, space, and a different pace of life.
How I Work
My role isn’t to lead or instruct in a traditional sense.
It’s to guide each session in a calm and natural way — creating space for people to settle into their own experience.
There’s enough structure to help people feel comfortable.
And enough space for things to unfold naturally.
groups are kept small
the environment is calm
the pace is unhurried
Some people talk.
Some don’t.
Both are welcome.
Experience & Background
Alongside Walk, Talk, Brew, I also work as:
a sprint coach, developing athletes over the long term
a coach education tutor with Athletics Northern Ireland
a bushcraft instructor working with organisations
This experience shapes how I run sessions.
There is structure where it’s needed.
And space where it matters.
Why This Matters
Most people are constantly busy.
Always doing.
Always thinking.
Always moving.
Very rarely stopping.
The impact of that builds over time.
These sessions are a chance to step out of that cycle — even for a few hours.
To slow down.
To think clearly.
To feel more like yourself again.
Living on purpose in a healthy, sustainable way surrounded by love, connection and nature.
